Proud Theater - Green Bay wasn't able to present its first full show this year because of COVID-19, but that did not stop them from putting together a socially distanced showcase of scenes created this season. We are so proud of our Green Bay youth & team! #GreenBay #EmpoweringLGBTQLeaders #proudtheater
Hey, Wausau. Check out this great event from our friends at PFPL! Two black barbers from Appleton will be in Wausau providing free haircuts to black members of our community.
If you weren't able to join us in Wausau today, you can watch our livestream from the event earlier here. Despite the rain, we still had a good turnout- thanks so much to those who joined us. Now let's keep up this fight! ✊🏼✊🏽✊🏾✊🏿🏳🌈
Madison. Today is the day, as with every day, to show up for black lives. As we said in the statement we issued last week, queer people, and especially white queer people, can not continue to stand by as public institutions continue to perpetrate violence against the vulnerable. Show up today and help us show that in Wisconsin, #BlackLivesMatter ✊🏼✊🏽✊🏾✊🏿
We are so incredibly proud of Wausau, one of the amazing communities we call home. As many as 2,000 people showed up for black lives on Saturday for a march organized by our friends at PFPL and Wausau Transfam Alliance. The 400 Block was packed. Streets were filled. City Hall Park was overflowing. Let's keep this up. Let's continue to support the amazing work of this community's leaders of color. And let's remember every single day that #BlackLivesMatter ✊🏼✊🏽✊🏾✊🏿
Art & Soul Innovations and Proud Theater stand in solidarity with communities of color and in firm opposition to police brutality. It is tragic that people must risk their health to call for justice in the face of a global pandemic, but justice is an essential service. While many in the queer community enjoy more freedoms than in the past, true liberation is impossible without coliberation and realizing the intersectional nature of injustice.
Our friends at Wausau Transfam Alliance and PFPL are planning a march for this Saturday in downtown Wausau. If you are able, please come out and help us show that in Wisconsin, #BlackLivesMatter ✊🏼✊🏽✊🏾✊🏿
We are super thrilled to share that we received a $5,000 grant from the Charter Oak Foundation to help us provide services for our Proud Theater chapters during this strange time. These funds will really help a lot, especially after losing so much income from the cancellation of our 2020 performance season.
