Technics - Japanese enterprise, which together with Panasonic, National and a few other belongs to Matsushita Electric Industrial Co Ltd. of Japan (MEI), is one of the largest producers of the consumer electronics in the world. The company was formed in 1965 and became famous thanks to the sale of record players with the direct drive. In 1969 Technics created SP- 10, first record player with the direct drive for professional applications in the world, and soon afterwards, in 1971, SL- 1100 (for the domestic consumption). SL- 1100 was used by influential DJ Kool Herc as the first mixing system which he completed after the emigration from Jamaica to New York. A few years later, SL- 1200 MK 2, successor of SL- 1200, became the most willingly used record player by contemporary DJ's. In Europe and in the USA, we can meet exclusively with the equipment for DJ’s and with electronic pianos more often, since in 2002 huge majority of the products intended for the domestic consumption is being produced under the quality of Panasonic, however Panasonic has never won such fame and respect in the hi-fi world as Technics had. Panasonic Corporation announced that it will launch its audio products under the Technics brand name again, reviving its brand long synonymous with high-quality hi-fi sound to deliver richer, emotionally-engaging sound and musical experiences. New Technics-branded hi-fi audio systems will be released first in the European market in December 2014 and later in other parts of the world. The Technics brand was used for Panasonic's hi-fi audio systems that were marketed around the world from 1965 to 2010. The brand name was coined from the word "technology" that faithfully reproduces original sounds, and symbolized Panasonic's commitment to the creation of high-quality audio. As its 50th anniversary comes up in 2015, the Technics brand is about to be reborn, through many years of evolution, as the quintessential mix of Panasonic's traditional sound technology and advanced digital technology. Through the new Technics, Panasonic will bring to discerning music and audio fans around the world a whole new level of wonder and inspiration by delivering authentic sounds, true to the artists' original intention. Technics - japońskie przedsiębiorstwo, które wspólnie z Panasonic, National i kilkoma innymi markami należy do Matsushita Electric Industrial Co Ltd. of Japan (MEI), jednego z największych na świecie producentów elektroniki użytkowej. Firma powstała w 1965 r., zyskała rozgłos dzięki sprzedaży gramofonów z napędem bezpośrednim. W 1969 r. wypuściła SP-10, pierwszy na świecie gramofon z napędem bezpośrednim dla zastosowań profesjonalnych, i niedługo później, w 1971, SL-1100 (dla użytku domowego). SL-1100 był używany przez wpływowego DJ-a Kool Herca jako pierwszy system miksujący, który skompletował po emigracji z Jamajki do Nowego Jorku. Parę lat później SL-1200 MK2, następca SL-1200, stał się najchętniej używanym gramofonem przez ówczesnych DJ'i. W Europie oraz USA coraz częściej możemy spotkać się tylko ze sprzętem dla DJ-ów oraz elektronicznymi pianinami, ponieważ w 2002 r. ogromna większość produktów przeznaczonych do użytku domowego zostaje produkowana pod marką Panasonic, jednak nigdy nie uzyskał on sławy oraz poważania w świecie hi-fi, jakie posiadał Technics.
